An honours graduate of Saint John High School, Brian completed five years of youth development training with 527 Simonds Air Cadet Squadron. He then completed a 5-year diploma in Chemical Engineering at UNB, with the assistance of a Beavebrook Scholarship.
His 37-year career was marked by the following responsibilities:
• Process Development Engineer, Sugar Refining, NB
• Specialists in refractory products, Canada and United States
• Sales of microcomputer solutions, NB
• Sales and installation of industrial sanitation equipment, NS
• Installation of refractories and monitoring of tests in the steel industry, ON and QC
• Industrial Automation and Control Sales Engineer, Atlantic Canada
• Refractory Sales and Construction Project Management, Atlantic Canada
Following his retirement in 2015, Brian successfully taught a 3-year course on the fundamentals of Tai Chi Chuan for Heart Health, and CEPS courses for senior adults at the Université de Moncton for stroke and heart patients. Currently, Brian enjoys volunteering at the Enviro Plus/Second Chance Workshop repair shop.
